Dr. McFaddin grew up in central Florida. He attended the University of Florida for his undergraduate training and received his Medical Doctor degree from the University of South Florida in 1980. His surgical training was in the United States Army, where he attained the rank of Major. Dr. McFaddin earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration in 2004. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is an active member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. He has been in private practice in Ocala since 1988, and is the only primary breast surgeon in Ocala not employed by one of the hospitals.

Dr. McFaddin has served twice as Chief of Surgery, as well as President of the Medical Staff, at Munroe Regional Medical Center. He was elected, and served as President of the Marion County Medical Society in 2009. Over the years, he has chaired and served on numerous hospital committees, including as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Surgery Center of Ocala. He is the Medical Director of the Breast Surgery Program at AdventHealth Ocala, and serves as the Chairman of the Cancer Committee, as well as the Multidisciplinary Cancer Care Conference.

Dr. McFaddin is active in his church. He has served twice on the Vestry. He has taught Wednesday night courses and led a small group. He also serves as a subdeacon, chalice minister, and reader.

Dr. McFaddin is married, has two children, and three grandchildren.
